Bodegas Chaves
Rias Baixas, Spain
About Chaves
Sustainably Farmed
Nestled in the lush, green landscapes of Galicia, in Spain’s northwest corner, Bodegas Chaves is a small, family-run winery rooted in generations of viticultural heritage. Located within the prestigious Rías Baixas DO, in the subzone of Condado do Tea, the winery specializes in producing expressive and elegant Albariño wines that capture the essence of Atlantic Spain.
The region’s cool, maritime climate—tempered by ocean breezes and frequent rainfall—creates ideal conditions for Albariño to thrive. At Bodegas Chaves, vines are trained on traditional pergola systems, which maximize airflow and sun exposure while protecting grapes from humidity. The soils here are rich in granite and sand, contributing to the minerality and freshness that define the estate’s wines.
Bodegas Chaves combines traditional techniques with careful modern vinification to preserve the variety’s natural aromatics and crisp acidity. The result is wines that are bright, floral, citrus-driven, and unmistakably coastal—perfect expressions of the Rías Baixas terroir.
With a commitment to quality over quantity, Bodegas Chaves represents the best of small-scale, artisanal Galician winemaking: authentic, sustainable, and deeply connected to the land.
