About Domaine Fonné
Sustainably Farmed
Domaine Michel Fonné is situated in Bennwihr, a picturesque village nestled along the Alsace Wine Route in the Kaysersberg valley. Winemaking is a heritage woven into the family’s history, perpetuated across seven generations. In 1989, Michel Fonné—a Dijon-trained oenologist—took the helm from his parents and his uncle, René Barth.
Today, the estate encompasses 13 hectares under vine across four communes, cultivating all seven traditional Alsatian grape varieties. The property’s exceptional terroir encompasses three notable Lieux-Dits (Rebgarten, Roemerberg, and Vogelgarten) alongside four prestigious Grands Crus (Mambourg, Mandelberg, Marckrain, and Schlossberg). This remarkable geological mosaic translates directly into the wines, offering a versatile range that travels effortlessly from crisp and vibrant to richly textured, opulent, and deeply fruited.
