About Bodegas Ondarre

Sustainably Farmed

Bodegas Ondarre is nestled in the heart of Rioja, Spain, in the historic village of Viana, just a few kilometers from Logroño. The estate is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, where time-honored winemaking meets thoughtful modern techniques. The bodega itself has a stately, serene presence, its ochre-hued walls and tiled roof echoing the warmth of the surrounding land.

The vineyards stretch across the undulating terrain of Rioja Alta, where the Atlantic breezes and varying elevations create an ideal microclimate for cultivating Tempranillo, Mazuelo, and Garnacha grapes. The land here feels timeless—sun-baked and soulful, yet alive with energy. In the early morning, a golden mist often clings to the vines, and by late afternoon, the light turns a rich amber, bathing the hills in a warm, honeyed glow.

Olive trees and ancient stone walls dot the landscape, and in the distance, the Sierra de Cantabria mountains form a protective backdrop, their soft blue silhouettes giving the horizon a painterly quality. The surrounding countryside is quilted with vineyards, grain fields, and small, whitewashed villages, each with its own rhythm and story. In every bottle from Bodegas Ondarre, there’s a quiet echo of this land—a landscape shaped by hands, seasons, and a deep respect for the earth.
