   About Raventos Rosell

SUSTAINABLY FARMED

The Joan Raventós Rosell winery started its activity in 1985 with the marriage formed by Joan Raventós Rosell and Maria Carme Vallverdú Ferrer. The wine-making origin of Mr. Raventós goes back to his childhood when he was already in charge of family vineyards. His grandfather, Pere Raventós Varies, was part of a group of seven friends who were ironically known as "The Seven Wise Men of Greece." Among them was Marc Mir, Manuel Raventós, Francisco Romeu, Pere Rovira, Modest Casanoves and Antoni Escayola. This group of friends, owners of vineyards, are able to solve the problem of the phylloxera plague by planting American vines and grazing the autochthonous varieties.

The farm is located between the villages of Masquefa and Sant Sadurní d'Anoia with an area of pproximately 52 hectares of land. It is from the vineyards planted on this farm where the grapes come from to make their wines and cavas.
