Rebel Rebel Wines was founded in the upheaval of 2020 by independent winemaker Kayleigh Hattingh, with a mission to make site-specific, minimal-intervention wines that let the vineyards of Stellenbosch speak for themselves. Rebels to the roots, the project focuses on purity, authenticity, and bottling wines with attitude—no tricks, no adjustments, just terroir.

The Verdelho Méthode Ancestrale 2024 is Kayleigh’s vibrant pét-nat expression of this philosophy. Crafted from Verdelho grown in the Bottelary Hills, the wine was fermented naturally and finished in bottle with no intervention, then rested on lees before disgorgement. The result is a sparkling wine that is alive with texture, freshness, and character.

Brimming with zesty citrus, green apple, and hints of tropical fruit, it shows a fine, energetic mousse and a line of natural acidity that keeps it crisp and mouthwatering. Unfiltered and unpretentious, it may carry a touch of natural sediment—a reminder of its honest winemaking.
