        About Vignamato

SUSTAINABLY FARMED/ woman owned

It was the late 1940s when Umberto Ceci purchased a small plot of land in the Battinebbia district in S. Paolo di Jesi dedicated to the production of Verdicchio grapes. In the early 1950s the land was assigned to Amato and his wife Maria, passionate winemakers and in the farmhouse of the purchased farm they started the production and marketing of the wines produced. Their experience and great passion for the vineyards, cared for to guarantee the best quality of the grapes for its wines, involve in this project the son Maurizio and his wife Serenella . Convinced that to grow and improve you must be open to change, in 1992 they created a new production project: " Vignamato", precisely "the vineyard of Amato" but also a dedication of love to this adventure and to the world of wine. The brand soon conquers extreme quality with an exemplary formula that marries and harmonizes the best traditions with the most modern technologies. Thanks to the use of state-of-the-art equipment, innovative technologies and the practice of eco-compatible agriculture, the Vignamato farm today also has a "Didactic Farm" which has developed a production characterized by high quality wines, without ever abandoning its origins and strong roots in traditions. The Ceci family, today also with the participation and young energies of their children Alessandra , Andrea and Francesco , bring the Vignamato brand higher and further, gaining new listening and applause on international markets.

“Versiano” means ‘direction,’ or verso— ‘towards,’ and is the ancient name of the village, La Pieve di Versiano. This wine is so called, due to the superior sun exposure of the vineyards; this is their selezione, their best selection of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi grapes.
