Jo Nash of McPherson Wines produces her MWC line using grapes grown in Central Victoria, Goulburn Valley, Yea Valley, and the Strathbogie Ranges. Their farming is sustainable and they apply many organic principles in the vineyard. Described as “soft, savoury, earthy styles with a European influence, the MWC Wines are a rustic style, full of interesting and complex characters—made for those who love great, honest wines”—and we could not agree more. Restrained and textured, nuanced, cool-climate wines made for everyday consumption.

The Pinot Gris is sourced from the hills of the cool climate Strathbogie Ranges. This region has warm, sunny days and cool evening temperatures which is perfect for quality PG. The grapes for the Pinot Noir are picked from a single vineyard in the cool Yea Valley, near the northernmost point of the Yarra Valley. The Cabernet Sauvignon fruit is harvested from 16 year old vines in exceptional blocks within MWC’s own vineyard in Goulburn Valley. The vineyard has sandy soils with excellent drainage providing ideal conditions for growing high quality fruit. The Shiraz and Mourvedre grapes are harvested from select vineyard sites within Central Victoria. This wine is the most awarded of the line-up—a rich wine, with elegant and supple tannins, medium bodied, and characteristic flavors of both Shiraz and Mourvedre.
